Weekly Photo Challenge: Fleeting Moment

It has been awhile since I have participated in the WordPress weekly photo challenge but his week’s theme struck a chord with me – fleeting moments – for two reasons. The first – I just watched Italy get tromped in the EuroCup finals by Spain 4-0. A fleeting moment indeed….(But fear not – Forza Italia! We will be back!) The second reason is a photo that sits on my desk. A photo that continually reminds me of the important things in life. I snapped this photo with my little point-and-shoot camera back in March 2009. I was in Tuscany for a very brief visit and spent a quick morning in Montalcino.  I remember rushing to get to Montalcino and then after parking the car, rushing down the hill from the car park with camera, map and backpack in hand – a rather frazzled morning. It was then I came upon these wonderful men out for their morning passeggiata as they slowly strolled down the path, chatting quietly amongst their little group.  It stopped me in my tracks and reminded me to slooooow down and enjoy the journey.  I have this photo framed on my desk to remind me to do just that. So a silent thank you to my walking friends – they unknowingly left me with a lesson that has stayed with me until this day.

There are some great posts on this theme this week – you can check them out here.

Have a great week, everyone! And remember to enjoy the journey. Ciao, ciao.
